VP, Supply Chain

Job description

A highly established multinational steel manufacturer is looking for a VP, Supply Chain to lead and manage the entire supply chain process to enhance business development, ensure sustainability, and achieve customer satisfaction. This position directly reports to the President.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the end-to-end Supply Chain management, overseeing capacity planning, production, procurement, customer service, and logistics functions
  • Implementing supply chain initiatives that support business strategies, by adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities and cost-effective strategies
  • Developing and implementing comprehensive supply chain strategies, focusing on digitalization and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Driving the integrated Sales & Operations Planning process to optimise demand and supply planning and enhance overall cost-to-serve metrics
  • Enhancing overall supply chain effectiveness, focusing on inventory management, customer satisfaction, cost effectiveness, and safety management
  • Fostering strategic relationships with key raw material suppliers and drive sustainability initiatives throughout the supply chain
  • Monitoring supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements
  • Reviewing corrective actions and ensuring compliance on the outcome of customer complaints investigation
  • Monitoring and improving key supply chain metrics, including quality, inventory management, customer satisfaction, and cost/profit margins
  • Locating and assessing potential suppliers, obtain quotations, and negotiate terms to ensure optimal pricing and quality
  • Monitoring the tendering evaluation process to ensure adherence to regulations and applicable

Key Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field of study
  • Minimum fifteen years' supply chain management experience in the manufacturing industry
  • Expertise in end-to-end supply chain management, including production planning, procurement, customer service, and logistics
  • Proficient in supply chain software and tools, including ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), WMS (Warehouse Management System), and MES (Manufacturing Execution System)
  • Prior experience working with colleagues from various functions across different regions
  • Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office tools
  • Global awareness, good business ethics, and an understanding of legal contracts
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, management and collaborative skills
  • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
  • Ability to look at situations from several points of view
