Senior HR Business Partner, HRBP (6 Months Contract)

A leading manufacturing pharmaceutical corporation. With a 4 million USD worldwide market, it is looking to expand its Malaysia shared services center and hire Human Resourse Business Partner talents.


Responsibilities

  • Being the senior person within the HRBP team, leading a team of 4-5 direct reports
  • Provide expert guidance and coaching to managers and employees on employment policies, including performance management, employee development, and career planning.
  • Ensure compliance with local and regional employment laws, partnering with legal teams to update policies and practices as required.
  • Manage employee relations cases (grievances, performance, absence, disciplinary actions) to timely resolution while minimizing organizational costs.
  • Support organizational changes like M&A activities, restructuring, and design projects in collaboration with HRBPs.
  • Collaborate with HRBPs and COEs to roll out global HR initiatives at a local level, including salary reviews, performance appraisals, and workforce planning.
  • Lead localization efforts for HR programs, including language translation and hosting webinars.
  • Coach people leaders on managing employee relations issues, aligning with organizational policies and culture.
  • Train managers to improve their skills in performance management, employee engagement, and team building.
  • Build strong relationships with people leaders across functions and geographies to understand business needs and provide tailored HR solutions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to ensure alignment between corporate policies and local business objectives.
  • Identify and implement improvements in HR processes and service delivery.
  • Analyze performance indicators (e.g., absence rates, grievances) to develop actionable initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with reporting requirements for audits, HSE, and other regulations.

Requirement

  • Bachelor/ Master's degree in Human Resource or related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in HR generalist roles, ideally within Shared Services.
  • Proficiency in HR systems like Workday and MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and practices in the region.
  • Ability to solve customer problems and inquiries in a high demand, fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
