Production Manager

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Lead Production Team: Guide and motivate the production team to meet output targets and ensure timely delivery.
• Process Improvement: Continuously assess and enhance production processes to boost productivity, efficiency, and reduce cycle time, staff overtime, equipment downtime, and material waste.
• Quality Assurance: Maintain product quality through robust quality management systems, procedures, and standard operating processes.
• Issue Resolution: Address and resolve production-related issues such as supply chain disruptions, staffing problems, equipment malfunctions, quality issues, or logistics constraints.
• Shift Operations: Develop and manage 5/24 and 7/24 multi-shift operations and staffing schedules.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing adherence to safety regulations and procedures.
• Workplace Organization: Implement best practices in workplace organization and conduct 5S audits across departments.
• Employee Training: Ensure all employees are fully trained on standard operating procedures and maintain up-to-date training records.
• Performance Reporting: Generate and present regular reports on production performance, including key metrics such as output, quality, efficiency, and resource utilization.
• Data Utilization: Use data from ERP systems to identify areas for improvement.
• Cost Management: Monitor and control production costs, optimize operational budgets, and implement cost-saving initiatives where applicable.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years as a Production Supervisor, Team Lead, or Manager in a metal fabrication and/or sheet metal manufacturing environment, with a proven track record of meeting production targets.
• Leadership: Strong and decisive leadership skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and discipline a team of over 100 direct workers, including both local and foreign workers.
• Preferred Experience: Contract manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in welding and powder coating is an advantage.
• Quality Systems: Knowledge of quality management systems and customer quality standards.
• Operational Understanding: Understanding of manufacturing efficiencies, key cost drivers, and operational KPIs.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Education: Degree or Diploma in manufacturing, engineering, or a relevant discipline is preferred.
• Language Skills: Must be able to speak Malay. Mandarin would be a plus but not mandatory.
