Procurement Manager (Indirect)

Job description

One of the world's largest FMCG brands is looking for a Procurement Manager (Indirect) to lead and manage all procurement initiatives for the business service categories such as warehouse and logistics, CAPEX and professional services. This position directly reports to the Head of Procurement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and formulate strategies for non-commodities procurement, aligning with the company's objectives and focus
  • Implement strategic sourcing and contracting strategies
  • Minimize risk exposure in supply and service contracts while maximizing operational opportunities through effective supplier management
  • Lead global, regional and local procurement initiatives and implement them collaboratively within the business
  • Leading negotiations for high-value contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favourable terms
  • Manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes
  • Oversee the entire purchasing process in a compliant and flexible manner, providing optimal support to resolve procurement challenges
  • Ensure supplier management adheres to the global standards, including Supplier Code, Contract Compliance, Supplier Coding, and Supplier's business sustainability

Key Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or related field of study
  • Minimum 8 years' procurement experience in the FMCG manufacturing industry
  • Good knowledge of procurement practices, indirect purchases, demand markets, negotiation concepts
  • Strong supplier relationship management
  • Expertise in contract management with an understanding of local commercial laws
  • In-depth knowledge of strategic procurement processes within a matrix organization, encompassing sourcing, strategic supplier management, contracting, and performance management
  • Prior exposure to e-procurement platforms like SAP Ariba and Oracle Fusion Cloud
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, management and collaborative skills
  • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
  • Ability to look at situations from several points of view
