Plant Manager

Job description

One of the world's largest sustainable packaging materials manufacturers is looking for a Plant Manager to lead all operations and plant improvement initiatives within a new plant setup project. This position directly reports to the Managing Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring efficient planning and controlling of production schedule
  • Develop plant objectives and budgets with Management and devise strategies to meet delivery
  • target below cost
  • Reviewing corrective actions and ensuring compliance on the outcome of customer complaints investigation
  • Coordinate operational projects and drive its successful implementation with the regional management team
  • Monitoring and analysing the statistical process data in order to identify trends and possibilities of improvement
  • Developing and managing the plans and strategies to achieve the organisational and financial objectives of the company
  • Implementing and maintaining TPM, 5S, Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing initiatives
  • Setting and controlling budgets, targets, and objectives (KPIs), and providing regular reports on progress in order to achieve the overall organisational and financial objectives
  • Effectively managing labour requirements, manpower planning, production planning, stock management, instrumentation calibration, plant improvement while developing innovative systems and processes
  • Improving processes and policies in support of organizational goals, formulating, and implementing departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output, and monitoring adherence to rules, regulations and procedures

Key Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain or related field of study
  • Minimum 8 years' operations management experience in the manufacturing industry
  • Prior experience in a new plant setup is highly preferable
  • Prior experience in packaging materials manufacturing would be an added advantage
  • Familiar with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, etc.
  • Prior experience working with colleagues from various functions across different regions
  • Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, management and collaborative skills
  • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
  • Ability to look at situations from several points of view
