PA/Travel Underwriter (AVP)

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the PA and Travel underwriting team, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory standards.

  • Develop and execute underwriting strategies and guidelines for PA and Travel insurance products.

  • Assess and underwrite PA and Travel risks, making well-informed decisions on coverage limits and premium rates.

  • Collaborate with brokers, agents, and clients to provide expert advice on PA and Travel insurance coverage and risk management.

  • Analyze underwriting results and claims data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for growth.

  • Mentor and develop junior underwriters, providing guidance and training to enhance their skills and knowledge.

  • Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes to maintain the company's competitive edge.

  • Prepare and present regular reports on underwriting performance and strategy to senior management.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the underwriting team.

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., CPCU) are preferred.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in PA and Travel insurance underwriting, with a proven track record in managing high-value and complex risks.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in underwriting software and tools.

  • In-depth knowledge of PA and Travel insurance products, policies, and regulations.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a senior management team.
