Our Client is a globally renowned MNC Shared Services that are a top leader in its respective industry that prides themselves on fostering a diverse and inclusive work culture that values teamwork, integrity, and professional growth. They are currently hiring for a Senior Cost Accountant.

You will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and overseeing all processes related to Cost Accounting. Your role will include acting as the primary point of contact for internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately and on time, and maintaining compliance with all corporate and internal policies. You'll also drive continuous improvements, troubleshoot issues, and ensure effective communication and collaboration across various departments.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of Cost Accounting activities, ensuring processes are efficient and accurate, adhering to established timelines.
  • Serve as the main liaison between stakeholders and the Cost Accounting team, providing insights and support on all related matters.
  • Guide and assist in the reconciliation of accounts, ensuring all discrepancies are identified and resolved swiftly.
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring they are executed in line with corporate timelines and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with various teams across Local Services and Financial Services to ensure smooth and timely account closures for all relevant entities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues or delays in Cost Accounting processes, acting swiftly to minimize disruption.
  • Ensure that internal controls are consistently applied within Cost Accounting, managing any necessary corrective actions as per the guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Facilitate the continuous review and update of work instructions, SOPs, and documentation to ensure that processes are in line with regional requirements.
  • Provide ongoing support to Local Services during audits, offering relevant documentation and assistance as required.
  • Address and resolve stakeholder queries promptly, ensuring a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Champion new initiatives related to Cost Accounting, ensuring alignment with the goals of the Center of Excellence.
  • Continuously assess and drive improvements in processes, seeking opportunities to streamline operations and reduce inefficiencies.
  • Support global efforts for process standardization and alignment, ensuring consistency across different regions and teams.
  • Take ownership of additional projects and responsibilities as assigned, contributing to the ongoing success of the organization.
  • Oversee the completion of system and functional testing to ensure seamless transitions and minimal operational disruptions.
  • Act as the regional coordinator for Cost Accounting roles within SSC APAC, ensuring roles and responsibilities are well-defined.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to the Cost Accounting team, helping them develop their skills and overcome challenges they encounter.
  • Step in as a backup for the Team Lead when necessary, ensuring continuity in leadership and team operations.
  • Assist in talent acquisition, resource planning, onboarding, and the retention of knowledge within the team.
  • Monitor team performance and identify areas for improvement through regular benchmarking and the tracking of key metrics.
  • In the absence of the Team Lead, take on leadership responsibilities, reporting directly to the Functional Manager.
  • Work closely with the Team Lead and Functional Manager to resolve any complex accounting issues that arise, ensuring smooth operations and effective solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in relevant field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail
  • Candidates with high proficiency in SAP will be highly prioritized
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
