Manager, Valuation (IFRS17)

Job description

Key Responsibilities

  1. Implementation of IFRS 17: Lead the implementation process, including actuarial system testing, data migration, and policy development.
  2. Actuarial Reporting: Prepare and review actuarial reports and disclosures in accordance with IFRS 17 requirements.
  3. Reconciliation and Analysis: Ensure accurate reconciliations between actuarial models, IFRS accounting systems, ledgers, and disclosures.
  4. Coordination and Communication: Act as a liaison between actuarial teams, group offices, and external consultants on actuarial and financial accounting matters.
  5. Audit Support: Provide actuarial support during audits, including preparation of necessary documentation and responding to auditor queries.
  6. Training and Development: Train and mentor team members on IFRS 17 standards and actuarial practices.
  7. Ad Hoc Tasks: Assist with various actuarial and financial accounting tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Actuarial Science.
  • Experience: 5 to 7 years of experience in actuarial functions within the insurance industry.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of IFRS and IAS standards, particularly those related to insurance contracts. Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
