HSE Manager

An established multinational food manufacturer is looking for a HSE Manager to be responsible for the development, implementation, and continuation of HSE policies, programs, and processes within the world class manufacturing facilities. This position will be reporting to the Regional Head of HSE.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand, implement, and execute environmental, health and safety controls and programs and work processes such as risk identification and assessment, emergency action planning and incident management, agency inspections and audit and internal inspections to ensure they work as intended
• Leading working sessions on Machine Safety Risk Assessment, Isolation of Hazardous Energy, ladders-steps-stairs, etc., and ensures all departments updates theirs risks on HIRADC setting actions to mitigate / eliminate them
• Establish, implement and maintain a site HSE management system compliant to global, regional, customers and ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 standards
• Develop suitable training content and delivery mode, in line with global, regional, and legal requirements, conduct gap assessment to identify competence needs, adjust curriculum to reflect site-specific demand and organize and provide appropriate training
• Identify contractor support and talent needs and oversee onsite contractor activity and understand local risks applicable to contractor and external service providers, implement, monitor, and evaluate approved processes to control local environmental, health and safety risks with contractors
• Responsible for championing HSE training programs and roll out safety analysis, risk assessments together with coordination disaster recovery plans for the factory & office. In this respect you will be responsible for developing the appropriate dashboards for management on all HSE related activities and progress updates
• Participate as a member of the site leadership team and consult on planning, issue and incident response and operational environment, health and safety and process safety compliance, understanding systems, integrated processes, regulatory issues, and workforce conditions
• Establish an updated emergency response plan (ERP) and arrange for training for members of IMT and ERT
• Promoting and driving a strong environmental, health and safety culture in the facility team by building a mindset where a continuous improvement mentality is viewed essential to success
• Ensuring strong alignment of environment, health and safety goals, metrics and targets with plant vision and targets and govern site performance targets together with the plant managers

Key Requirements:

• Tertiary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental, Engineering or relevant discipline
• At least ten years' experience in EHS roles within the food manufacturing environment
• Possessing relevant HSE competency certificates (Green Book, CePIETSO, CePSWaM, AGTES) certified by DOSH
• Knowledgeable with the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
• Must have a strong balance between strategic and operational HSE practices to be able to understand, appreciate and deliver best solutions for the company
• Excellent understanding of business operations and procedures as well as understanding of market research and data analysis in relation to HSE
• Demonstratable strategic thinking abilities, strong organizational, planning and leadership skills with problem-solving aptitude
• Strong project management abilities - must have a proven track record of managing multiple projects to successful completion
• Possess knowledge in Safety laws, regulations, codes, and best management practices
• Open to direction and collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done
• Able to multi-task, team player, good leader and motivator
• Displays innovative approach to work
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
