Head of IT

Our client is a Global bank is currently expanding their IT team by looking for a potential Head of IT

Key Responbilities:

• Managing several hives as a subdomain leader, similar to a pivotal role within a larger organization.
• Responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of either business value or the modern API platform, depending on the subdomain.
• Collaborates with the business to guide the delivery process, working alongside Engineering Leads, IT Change and Release Managers, and Product Specialists.
• Demonstrates a growth mindset, aligned with contemporary work practices, while empowering the team to succeed. Acts as a servant leader, believing that their role is to support and serve the team
• Responsible for driving business results supported by technology products and pillars.
• Deliver, monitor, and assess technology solutions that enhance key business metrics, such as client NPI and business ROTE.
• Contribute to shaping the product roadmap through collaborative discussions with stakeholders. Provide leadership and technical expertise within the Sub Domain.
• Commit 100% of their efforts to achieving the Sub Domain's goals and outcomes.
• Take full ownership of all applications within the Sub Domain. Ensure resilience, manage obsolescence, and balance application/platform health with the delivery of new features.
• Partner with Chief Product Owners, Engineering Leads, and Chapter Area Leads to manage capacity and ensure squads are set up for success.
• Guide Engineering Leads to maintain technical consistency across Hive solutions and business architecture. Lead architecture evaluations during RFPs for technology tools and service providers.
• Show a strong passion for client experience with a user-first approach. Drive the Sub Domain towards the future of banking and technolog

Key Requirements:

• Proven leadership experience (servant leadership) with a strong willingness to lead by example.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in startups or an agile environment is a plus, as is experience with operating highly-available systems in tech companies or financial institutions.
• Proficient in modern object-oriented programming practices, including entity frameworks, dynamic reflection, reusable interfaces, and non-blocking reactive design.
• Knowledgeable about the FinTech ecosystem, including Blockchain, Digital Banking, and Generative AI.
• Advanced expertise in AI, Tokenization, Blockchain, Digital Assets, and FinTech technologies
