Equipment Engineering Manager

Our client is a global semiconductor company in Central Malaysia. They are currently seeking an Equipment Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of equipment engineers and technicians to ensure optimal performance and continuous improvement.
  • Equipment Management: Oversee the specification, procurement, installation, and qualification of new manufacturing equipment. Ensure that all equipment meets safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
  • Maintenance Strategy: Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to maximize equipment uptime and performance.
  • Project Management: Lead equipment-related projects, including upgrades, retrofits, and relocations, ensuring timelines, budgets, and objectives are met.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with process engineering and manufacturing teams to optimize equipment performance and support process improvements. Partner with suppliers and vendors to resolve equipment issues and enhance performance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction, increased efficiency, and process optimization through equipment enhancements.
  • Compliance: Ensure all equipment complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
  • Budgeting: Manage the equipment engineering budget, including capital expenditures, and track expenses to ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equipment efficiency, downtime, and overall performance. Provide regular reports to senior management.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing or a related high-tech industry, with at least 3 years in a management role.
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, including lithography, etching, deposition, and metrology tools.
  • Proven experience with equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
  • Strong project management abilities with a proven track record of successfully leading equipment projects.
  • Familiarity with safety standards, including OSHA and other relevant industry regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
