Engineering & Maintenance Manager (Semiconductor)

Our client is a rapidly expanding semiconductor company in the North of Malaysia. Due to rapid expansion, they are currently seeking an Engineering & Maintenance Manager.


Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Team Development:

• Guide and motivate Engineers and Technicians to drive continuous improvements in yield, efficiency, cost reduction, and resolution of customer complaints.
• Foster technical and professional growth among team members by planning development in both technical expertise and interpersonal skills.

• Customer and Vendor Collaboration:

• Partner with customers to address quality and yield challenges, resolve issues related to product specifications, materials, and process capabilities.
• Engage with vendors to explore alternative suppliers and improve processes.

• Equipment and Process Management:

• Evaluate and recommend new equipment purchases, ensuring effective implementation.
• Oversee equipment commissioning and approval processes.

• Quality Assurance:

• Enforce adherence to standard operating procedures and product specifications.
• Act as a liaison to address quality concerns between quality assurance, engineering, and maintenance teams.
• Monitor and report on production line quality performance.
• Drive system and procedural enhancements while disseminating best practices across teams.
• Review and address potential quality risks identified by the team.
• Communicate quality updates, alerts, and changes to team members and colleagues promptly.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering.
• 10-15 years of experience within a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in presenting to internal and external stakeholders.
• Comprehensive knowledge of semiconductor process engineering, statistical process control, and design of experiments (DOE).
• Familiarity with methodologies such as Taguchi and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Technical report writing proficiency.
• Effective management and organizational skills.
