Electrical & Automation Engineer

Job description

My client is a well-known MNC manufacturer of building materials. They are currently looking for Electrical & Automation Engineers to join their newly created team in Melaka.

Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical power systems, including generation, transmission, and distribution.
  • Conduct power system studies and set protection relays, calculate fault levels, and verify designs.
  • Prepare technical reports, present findings, and attend project meetings.
  • Support site activities like supervision, testing, and commissioning.
  • Design medium and low voltage systems, including single line diagrams, load lists, and cable sizing.
  • Design control systems, including instrument lists, datasheets, and control system architecture.
  • Ensure electrical systems meet technical and quality standards.
  • Develop and implement PLC programs for automation control.
  • Create structured code for control applications, ensuring safety and operational standards.
  • Create control logic and algorithms for real-time systems.
  • Manage projects, including planning, risk analysis, testing, training, and handover.
  • Commission, test, and debug automation systems on-site.
  • Document design and development processes.
  • Troubleshoot and fix hardware and software issues.
  • Work with other engineers to integrate control systems.
  • Maintain automation equipment and support users.
  • Help deliver multiple projects and provide user training.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Automation Engineering or related fields.
  • Min. 5 years of experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Medium and low-voltage electrical systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of PLC automation, SCADA & HMI Programming.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Confident communication and strong interpersonal skills
  • Good in written and verbal English
