Design Engineer (R&D)

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop sensors from concept to mass production.
  • Manage hardware projects within interdisciplinary and international teams.
  • Design and develop compact, cost-effective hardware for optical sensors, including circuit diagrams, simulations (Spice), and PCB design oversight.
  • Assemble, test, and verify circuits and sensors.
  • Conduct necessary type tests (e.g., temperature, isolation, ambient light suppression, EMC) and perform release measurements as required.
  • Draft specifications and documentation.
  • Coordinate with EMS service providers.
  • Assist in transitioning products to mass production.
  • Provide ongoing support for products throughout their lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electronics engineering, telecommunications engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of analog and digital circuit technology and EMC, preferably in optical sensor technology.
  • Excellent understanding of electronic components.
  • Proficient with ECAD tools and circuit simulation (Spice). Knowledge of C and VHDL is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to evaluate solutions against industry standards (CE-Compliance).
  • Creative and cost-conscious with an interest in tackling new, complex technical challenges.
  • Capable of presenting to stakeholders and managers.
  • Highly independent and systematic in approach, with a willingness to take responsibility and implement ideas with dedication.
  • Proficiency in English is required; German is a plus.
