Plating Development Engineer

This semiconductor company in Malacca is seeking a Plating Development Engineer.


Key Responsibilities:

• Plating Process Development: Lead the development and optimization of plating processes for semiconductor manufacturing in accordance with IATF 16949 standards.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure compliance with IATF 16949 requirements throughout the plating development process.
• Material Selection: Work closely with materials engineers to select appropriate plating materials based on performance, reliability, and cost considerations.
• Process Characterization: Conduct thorough process characterization studies to identify critical process parameters and ensure robust and repeatable plating processes.
• Failure Analysis: Investigate and troubleshoot plating-related issues, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to drive continuous improvement and ensure seamless integration of plating processes into semiconductor production.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of plating processes, procedures, and outcomes in compliance with IATF 16949 documentation requirements.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to plating processes and ensure ongoing compliance.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
• Proven experience in plating process development within the semiconductor industry.
• In-depth knowledge of IATF 16949 standards and their application in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct thorough failure analyses.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis tools and techniques.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
