Legal and Contracts Specialist

Job description

This role reports to the Regional Legal and Contracts Manager (Asia Pacific). This role will require you to work closely with the internal legal team in driving and managing all legal matters for the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review commercial contracts and tenders, identifying and communicating risks and issues to stakeholders
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to stakeholders regarding agreement terms, offering alternative solutions where necessary
  • Draft, review, and amend company terms of business and client terms and conditions
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all contract-related matters
  • Maintain comprehensive records and documentation related to contracts and tenders
  • Communicate pertinent information to stakeholders regarding contract status, including on-boarding of new clients and contract terminations
  • Monitor contracts and oversee closeout, extension, or renewal processes
  • Collaborate with external legal and insurance providers as needed for complex queries
  • Support the marketing team and consultants with proposal development and presentations
  • Drive regional client account initiatives and identify growth opportunities within existing accounts
  • Manage company regulatory compliance and reporting, including consultant training where required
  • Review current practices and procedures to ensure optimal productivity
  • Provide general and ad-hoc support to Managing Directors as needed
  • Maintaining key Relationships/Stakeholders: Internal & External


Skills & Experience

  • Law Degree required
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience, preferably in a similar role
  • Experience in corporate legal or consulting roles with exposure to commercial agreements preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with staff and management at all levels, navigating diverse personalities and situations
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong focus on customer service
  • Exceptional organizational and administrative abilities
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team
  • Possess a strong understanding of commercial contracting risks, issues, and terms and condition
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • Proven track record of managing multiple tasks with conflicting priorities
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Fluency in reading and drafting contracts in Mandarin or other languages is an added bonus
